What We’ve Learned

As I began my journey back into academia at Lewis University, pursued my International Coaching Federation (ICF) accreditation, and reflected on my 25 years in corporate America including more than 17 years in leadership and coaching—I have grown in ways that feel both professionally meaningful and personally affirming.

I have expanded my knowledge, strengthened my leadership abilities, and gained valuable tools that will help me serve others with greater intention, care, and purpose through coaching. This experience has deepened my understanding of coaching theories and frameworks while equipping me with practical skills I can apply in my professional role and beyond.

More importantly, it has given me the confidence to continue growing my personal coaching practice by helping me better understand what it truly means to keep the client at the center of every conversation. I have come to see coaching as a space that invites reflection, challenges limiting beliefs, and opens the door to new ways of thinking, being, and acting.

I now understand more clearly that the heart of coaching is partnership, with each conversation centered on the client’s agenda, growth, and potential. The key competencies I have developed, including cultivating trust and safety, maintaining presence, listening actively, and evoking awareness are especially meaningful to me because they reflect the kind of coach and leader I want to be.

These skills will help me continue building my coaching business by demonstrating that my practice is grounded in authenticity, continuous learning, and a genuine commitment to helping others grow. They also communicate what sets me apart: my passion for supporting professionals from emerging leaders to seasoned executives—as they discover their purpose, navigate change, and move toward becoming their best selves.

I also know these skills will strengthen me in interviews and professional settings because they allow me to connect with others in a genuine way that empowers growth and leads to stronger personal and business outcomes.
